This festivity is also known as the Spring Festival, and it is the main Chinese event of the year. This celebration lasts for fifteen days at all, but the public holiday lasts for three days. During these days, the family gathers together and eat special New Year´s meals. Despite the fact that the public holiday lasts three days, celebrations keep going on during the entire holiday period.
Finally, this festivity ends with the lantern festival. This is a night of displays and painted lanterns. The most important activity during this lantern festival is the Dragon Dance. These dragons are usually made of paper, silk and bamboo; people hold them overhead and dance during their way along the parade routes.

This year is very well known as he year of good luck; it is algo the sign of travelling, but mainly brings success. Chinese people have high expectations for horses and do not use them for farm work.
